AFFIRMATION vs. FINAL EXAM
Most state nursing boards require you to affirm that you have read and completed all course materials. In these cases, upon completion of a course you will be asked one question to acknowledge that you have read and understood the course information that has been provided. Completion of the affirmation statement gives you a passing grade and allows you to access your course certificate.
Other state boards require you to take and pass a course-related test. A final exam typically consists of ten (10) questions.
Please note that testing and affirmation requirements vary by state. Be sure to confirm the requirements with your state licensing board.
PASSING GRADE
Where exams are required, a score of 70% or higher is required in order to pass and earn your certificate.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KEEP FOR MY LICENSE
Once you have passed your course, a course ID number can be found on the completion certificate for reference when you are ready to renew your license. In some cases, an accreditation provider or approval number will also be listed. Your certificate information will be important for license renewal and will be needed if you are ever audited by your state board. Please be sure to keep your information on file and accessible for future reference. Many state boards recommend you keep a copy of your certificates for at least four (4) years.
Important! Completing your CE does not renew your license. You must renew your license through your state board.
