NEW! DEA MATE ACT:
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.


Mandatory Courses:

• Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting - 2 hours
• Pain Management, Identification of Addiction, Practices Prescribing and/or Dispensing Opioids – 2 hours (for licensees with prescriptive authority)

Additional Requirements

• NEW! Beginning May 1, 2026 RNs (including CRNPs and CNSs) must complete a one-time, 2 hour requirement on the organ and tissue donation and recovery process. The requirement must be completed within five years of initial licensure or within five years of license renewal, whichever occurs first.
• Advanced pharmacology – 16 hours (for licensees with prescriptive authority)
