Florida Nursing CE Requirements
  • Why choose Western Schools to help you fulfill your Florida continuing education requirements? Our courses are evidence-based, and written and peer-reviewed by experts. We are approved by the Florida State Board and nationally accredited by the ANCC. Western Schools submits all continuing education records to CEBROKER after successful course completion.
  • RNs and LPNs in Florida are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years, including: 2 hours related to Prevention of medical errors and 2 hours of Florida laws related to nursing.
  • For initial license renewal, all RNs and LPNs must complete 1 hour related to HIV/AIDS
  • Effective 8/1/17, all RNs and LPNs must complete 2 hours related to Impairment in the workplace.
  • Every third renewal, all RNs and LPNs must complete 2 hours related to Domestic Violence in addition to the required 24 hours.
