NEW! DEA MATE ACT:
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
Mandatory Subjects:
Licensees who prescribe controlled substances shall include at least 3 hours on prescribing opiates which may include, but is not limited to, education regarding prescribing and administering opiates, the risks and indicators regarding development of addiction to opiates, and emergency opiate situations. One half-hour (30 minutes) of the 3 required hours must cover the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).
Continuing Competency is being waived for the 2022 RN and APRN renewal.
