In the United States (US), roughly 5.8 million Americans of all ages are living with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) - the progressive neurodegenerative disease of the brain. Of the total US population, one in 10 people age 65 and older has AD (Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 2019). With the population of older adults growing rapidly throughout the world, it is imperative that healthcare providers prepare for an increase in the number of persons who will need dementia-related care.
