About the Course:
This course explores the comprehensive nursing care for patients with ostomies, highlighting the significance of addressing both their physical and emotional needs. By integrating recent findings from a systematic review, the session aims to demonstrate effective nurse-led interventions for optimizing ostomy management, specifically focusing on hygiene, ostomy bag changes, and peristomal skin care. Additionally, the course underscores the importance of providing essential emotional support to patients, caregivers, and families throughout the entire ostomy journey. 

Following the presentation is the recording of a 30-minute Q&A session, which was featured in the live webinar version of this course.

  •  Understand the different types of ostomies 
  • List causative factors and indicators for ostomy placement. 
  • Describe the process of site selection before ostomy placement surgery.
