About the Author

Cheryl M. Lindy, PhD,RN-BC, NEA-BC

Dr.Lindy is an independent nursing consultant. She received her bachelor’s degreewith a major in nursing from the College of St. Teresa, Winona, Minnesota. Hermaster’s degree is from Texas Woman’s University, Denton, Texas, with a focusin medical surgical nursing and nursing education. She received her PhD innursing science from Texas Woman’s University, Denton, Texas. She has over 45years of experience in the acute-care setting. She has worked in various rolesfrom staff nurse to administrative director of education, research, andprofessional practice. She is certified in professional nursing development andas a nursing executive-advanced by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.She has been involved in staff education for over 30 years and has workedclosely with staff nurses as they transitioned to leadership roles.
