Who would have ever thought that the first six months of 2020, “The Year of the Nurse,” would be like this? Let's take a confident look back on a tumultuous and crazy year in our profession. Never before have nurses been so needed and risen to the occasion! While a pandemic is never funny, we know that nurses are experts at using humor to cope in any situation. This promises to be a humorous, inspiring, thankful, and reflective webinar presentation from someone on the front lines!

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this webinar course, the learner will be able to:
  • Discuss why humor is important in our professional lives.
  • Share at least two methods to bring humor into the workplace.

About the Presenter:

Terry M. Foster received his RN diploma from The Christ Hospital School of Nursing – Cincinnati and in 1997 received his Master’s Degree in Critical-Care and Trauma Nursing from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing and Health. He has held positions at both the Mercy Hospitals of Cincinnati, Ohio and since 1998 has been the Critical-Care Clinical Nurse Specialist in the five Emergency Departments at St. Elizabeth Healthcare (a Magnet designated hospital) in northern Kentucky. He has been employed in this six-hospital system since 1975. In June 2017, Mr. Foster was promoted to the dual role of Ambassador for the St. Elizabeth Foundation along with his position as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency Departments. His primary areas of nursing experience have always been in the Emergency Department and Critical-Care Units where he has national certifications in critical-care nursing, emergency nursing, pediatric emergency nursing, and trauma nursing. Mr. Foster has authored more than 30 publications in nursing and medical journals and has given over 4,000 presentations at medical conferences in all 50 states. For the past 10 years, he has been featured on TLC’s “Untold Stories of the ER.”
