About the Course
For thousands of years, the arts played a pivotal role in healing and wellness practices around the world. Unfortunately, modern healthcare systems often underutilized this ancient piece of human technology. In recent years, emerging research and new therapeutic applications lead to a resurgence of interest and investment in the arts. Music, dance, drama, writing, and visual arts have contributed to advancements in stroke rehabilitation, cancer care, dementia care, Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders, mental health, healthcare professional burnout, and so much more. Through this course, participants will discover arts-based solutions to improve patient care and their own self-care.
