About the Course:
Nursing is a profession that offers great diversity in career options. However, most nurses are unaware that there is a potential to use their nursing skills in natural outdoor settings like camp. Nurses have unique education and training to serve as comprehensive care providers – a key to successfully operating in a camp setting. This session will outline the nursing expertise and skills necessary for camp, the mechanisms of camp operations, and resources for growth and mastery of the camp nurse role.

About the Presenter
Tracey Gaslin PhD, CPNP, FNP-BC, CRNI, RN-BC. Dr. Gaslin treats patients with bleeding disorders and is the executive director of the Association of Camp Nursing, a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and a volunteer for the American Camp Association. Her camp background is in special needs camping. She publishes most of her work in the areas of camp nursing, service leadership, and health service needs in communities. She serves as a consultant for camps across the US and Canada assisting them with their health services programs.
