This course provides nurses with evidence-based approaches for identifying the nutritional requirements for school-aged children. Additionally, factors that contribute to pediatric nutritional issues with solutions for management are presented.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
  • Identify the nutritional requirements in the pediatric population based on age group.
  • Explain the factors that contribute to pediatric nutritional issues, including anorexia and obesity.
  • Describe the emotional and medical consequences of pediatric nutritional issues.
  • Identify evidence-based solutions for pediatric nutritional issues.

About the Author:
Kelly A. Crum, PhD (c), MSN, RN, is a nursing education consultant serving schools on accreditation and curriculum matters. In addition, she currently serves as an international nursing education consultant and is the expert nurse consultant for Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences. With 26 years of nursing education experience, she has held various nursing positions in both clinical and academic settings.
