It discusses classification, mechanism of action, and considerations for each class. This course will clarify for the learner the various antimicrobial classes and subclasses, and their appropriate use in clinical practice.

  • Classify antimicrobial drugs.
  • Differentiate between bacteriostatic and bactericidal antibiotics.
  • Discuss the pharmacology, indications, and side effects of the various classes of antimicrobials.
