Cindy K. Lybarger, MSN, APRN-BC, CDE, has been a pediatric nurse for over 20 years. She began her nursing career in pediatric critical care and has worked as a staff nurse, nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist, and now is a certified family nurse practitioner and diabetes educator working full time in pediatric diabetes education and diabetes management. She is also the coordinator for the American Diabetes Association-recognized diabetes education program at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She has a faculty appointment at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and the University of Phoenix, Nashville campus, and she actively precepts nurse practitioner students. Cindy has also been a diabetes camp nurse for several years. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, Society of Pediatric Nurses, the American Nurse’s Association, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
