Since 1986, Western Schools has been at the forefront of professional continuing education (CE), providing evidence-based, peer-reviewed CE courses to more than 1 million nurses, advanced practice nurses, psychiatric technicians, and nursing home administrators, enabling these professionals to fulfill their re-licensure requirements and meet other credentialing needs.
In 2006, Western Schools expanded to provide CE courses to social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists. Between 2007 and 2009, GSC Home Study Courses (GSC), American Dental Institute (ADI), and Respiratory Care Educational Consulting Services (RCECS) joined the Western Schools family of companies, expanding our offerings to include courses directed toward dental professionals, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and respiratory therapists. In 2014, all these companies merged to form a single entity, operating under a single brand: Western Schools. This consolidation has enabled Western Schools to preserve and foster the high quality of CE that our learners expect. Then in 2016, we expanded again to welcome Speech-Language Pathologists, Pharmacists, and Registered Dietitians to the family.
Since then, we have continued to improve the quality and consistency of our course development processes, and have worked hard to offer an ever-expanding number and variety of courses. Highly credentialed education planners work within each profession to ensure that courses are written by recognized experts in their fields, peer-reviewed by appropriate subject matter specialists, and supported by the latest evidence-based research. This rigorous process ensures that course materials will enhance learning and job performance, improve practice outcomes, meet licensing requirements, and help advance the knowledge and careers of our learners.
